Life Happens. We understand that life takes unexpected turns: the death of an owner, an owner’s moving to a nursing home, serious owner illness, a change in living circumstances – we live in the real world where things don’t always go according to plan. There are many good Samaritans out there who take on a stray dog in the hopes of not having to take the dog to a kill shelter, only to find out how difficult it is to adopt without a large network of adoption events and people seeking a new pet family member.
Sheltering is our biggest challenge to helping pets in need of a new home. However, if you can help us in the following ways, we are most likely to be able to help you:
- You or someone you know can keep the dog between our weekly adoption events;
- You might be able to contribute all or part of a $75 spay/neuter cost, plus a $13 rabies shot, if applicable;
- You can drop off the dog at the adoption event and pick it up at the end of that event if it is not yet adopted. NOTE: ALL of our dogs are adopted, and the fostering part of our request usually does not last very long, as our dogs are adopted fairly quickly.
In return, we provide the puppy shots and adult booster shots, the microchip, and wormer. But most of all, we provide the work in matching the dog with a new and loving home.
